A Wild Pig Chase

wild pig chase (2)Well done to the winning team in our Wild Pig Chase across Ipswich.

Three teams of scouts headed out on the mean streets of Ipswich to track down the herds of plastic pigs roaming the back streets and alley ways.

With the help of a map and a convoluted scoring system, their mission was to find as many high scoring pigs as possible and make it back to base, on time and unscathed.

The pigs are part of a sculpture trail which has been set up to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice. You have until the 2nd of September to see whether you can do as well as our scouts – our winning team managed 25 in 90 minutes.

District Cub Sports Day

A big ‘Well Done’ to our cubs for coming equal runners-up at the District Sports Day. A valiant effort by the team and also all those who turned up to cheer them on.

County Scout Summer Camp

The second instalment is now due – could parents please get cheques to us asap?

Construction Challenge

Well done to our cubs for coming second in the District Construction Challenge. Lots of imagination and good teamwork on display!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our AGM – and a big ‘Welcome’ to those parents who have volunteered to join our Executive Committee this year.  Insomniacs might be interested to note that our AGM document can be downloaded from the About Us/Documents page.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers – update

Many thanks to all of you who sent in vouchers to us.  We’ve now ordered a football each for the cub and scout sections; we’ve banked the rest of the vouchers for the beavers to use next year.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers

We’ve now registered with Sainsbury’s and will be collecting vouchers so that we can buy equipment for outdoor activities.  If you have some that you would like to donate, please hand them to a leader or use the contact form to let us know and we will collect them from you.

Welcome to our Scout Group!

And to our new website.  We hope to use the site to keep parents and the wider community up-to-date with our scouting activities. If anyone has any photos of Samford Valley from the old days, we’d love to see them and publish them in our gallery.

District Bowling Competition

Well done to our cubs who were runners up in the District Bowling Competition on 9 February.
